- It is a good idea to prepare for the renewal of the heat distribution center in time, so that in connection with it, the real heat demand of the building and the correct equipment dimensioning can be determined, as well as tender for the purchase and schedule the modification work at a suitable time.
- It has been possible to carry out various repairs and renovations that improve energy efficiency in the building, in which case the heat and power demand could have been reduced by up to 20 percent. With the improvement of energy efficiency, the heating system no longer needs as high temperatures as before, and in the new situation they can therefore be lower.
- When the temperatures of the heat distribution center and the heating network are sized according to the actual need, oversizing of the equipment is avoided and costs are saved. Nowadays, a lot of measured data from online services of energy companies is available to refine the dimensioning.
- In the past, the building owner has typically owned the property's district heating equipment, the owner of which is responsible for repairs and renewals. The renovation can also be carried out with a service model, in which case the equipment remains the responsibility of the service provider and the building owner only pays for the service.
